The Housing State Environmental Planning Policy (Housing SEPP) was legislated on Friday 26th November 2021.
The Housing SEPP has consolidated five existing housing-related policies to streamline the planning system in relation to developments aimed to incentivise the supply of affordable and diverse housing in the right places and for every stage of life.
The Housing SEPP combines policy relating to secondary dwellings (granny flats), seniors housing, disability housing, affordable housing, caravan parks, and manufactured home estates.
It also introduces two new housing types:
· Co-living housing
· Independent living units
The Housing SEPP also Includes the planning rules for Short-term rental accommodation.
