Industry Experience
Luke is the Director of MMJ’s Town Planning division in Wollongong and is also a Board Director for the national MMJ Real Estate franchise group. Luke is a second generation Director of the Wollongong business, and a proud member of the Planning Institute of Australia. He is a qualified Town Planner specialising in property advisory and development outcomes across NSW. With almost 20 years’ experience in the property and construction industry, Luke appreciates the critical role development plays in both the social and economic well-being of our communities and is a strong believer that good development outcomes always start with good planning advice and leadership.
Luke deeply understands the complexities of the NSW planning system and knows the ‘front-end’ frustrations that planning processes cause for realising development goals. This appreciation of the importance that the role of planning has in the property industry, has been further heightened by his partnership in real estate, providing him with a unique platform to work within and witness how development outcomes actually come to fruition. This has seen Luke develop a personable and practical approach to problem-solving, and a motivational drive to see good development outcomes through to completion.
Luke works closely on a daily basis with developers, consultants, Councils, State Agencies and the like
throughout NSW. Luke accommodates solutions for many local, national and international clients, all of
whom have come to rely on his expert planning and development advice. He has thus far been involved in
over 1000+ development applications and planning proposals during his time with MMJ, from small
business establishment and residential infill redevelopment, right through to land release, major
project and regionally significant rezoning outcomes. As a business owner, Luke has a keen passion for
overcoming challenges, and a genuine interest in business management and making organisations
successful. He applies this attitude and approach to all his development dealings, using his technical knowledge and know-how to benefit his clients.
More About Luke
Luke has a passion for football, ever since he was young. He loves the competitive environment and comradery that football creates, and attributes many of his longstanding personal and business relationships to the great game.
Not many people know this, but Luke is a childhood cancer survivor and has had to witness his own children
face similar adversity. Luke says this experience has humbled him tremendously as a person and has helped
him to appreciate the amazing work that health workers do within their communities. At the same time, it has
made him thankful for what is important in his life – his family. This humility has created a burning desire for
Luke to speak out and help others, by telling his story and supporting those organisations that have helped him and his family, as a children’s cancer advocate.
